The house holds at 17 or above in blackjack, and hits at any other number. You can get some insight about how the house regulates the tables from the site Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registred or enter the forums! | Usually the dealer has no choice in how to play; they play strictly according to this rule so that the casino is totally in control of the structure of the game and doesn’t risk losing money by a dealer playing stupidly. It also avoids any allegations of cheating or collusion. |

Oh, yes now understand.
Usually I hold at 17, after 17 I don't get any cards. _________________

| Good answer but let me clarify a bit more. Although most casinos will stand on a soft 17, some casinos require the dealer to hit it. A "soft" hand is one that has no risk of busting by drawing one more card, so a soft 17, for example, could be an ace and a six. |
