In this thread I'll start SEO lessons, I have some knowledge in SEO and I know how to optimise a site for search engines. I read a plenty of SEO articles, I experimented my site, participated in SEO forums and as the result I have some success in SEO. But before I want to tell you that I promote my site only by white ways, that is I've never spamed, I've never made any doorways, redirections or other black ways. I promote my site only by good ways and I'm going to tell you about my experience.


If you want to optimize a page for search engines firstly you have to choose keywords for this page. Remember that each page must have its own keywords.

How to choose keywords?

When you find keywords for your page then you have to optimize this page with these keywords.
I suggest to choose, one, two or three keywords for the same page. There is no sense to choose a lot of keywords for a one page.

It’s very difficult to optimize the same page for all search engines, because all they use their own search algorithm.

For example, if you want to optimize a page for Google you have to check your competition for the selected keyword. If you choose ”online casino” as a keyword for your page enter this phrase in Google and see who the first? It’s very important to know rivals for this keyword.
If the first page of results are full of sites of high PR (more than your PageRank) and they have a high keyword density (3-5%) then you will have no chance to take the first place until you have the same PR or more keyword density. But if those sites have a high keyword density then you can’t to create more keyword density because your site may be penalized by Google.

MSN and Yahoo look at your back links and keyword density. So you have to learn your rivals. If they have a high keyword density (in MSN and Yahoo it’s more than in Google - ~7-10%) and have a lot of back links you will have a small chance to get the first places in results for the selected keyword.

When you choose your keyword and learn your chances in getting the first places in results you have to optimize a page for this keyword.

The main rules of high keyword dencity:
1. Use your keyword very often

2. Instead of “it”, “this”, and others use your keyword. For exampl, we can say:”It is the largest portal”, but in SEO it’s better to say like this:”This casino portal is the largest portal”, if “casino portal” is the selcted keyword.

3. Don’t repeat your keyword like SPAM that is “casino portal, casino portal, casino portal”. If you want to repeat this keyword very often write like this “the best casino portal, #1 casino portal, online casino portal”, that is add another words differing from your keyword

4. And the last, your text must begin with your keyword. That is your paragraph must start with your keyword. For example, in this first sequence of a paragraph: ”You can visit one of the largest portals...”. In SEO it’s better to start your paragraph from your keyword. That is, if your keyword is “casino portal” you can start your paragraph like this:”Casino portal’s team invites you to visit one of the largest casino portals.”

1. Meta tags
The main thing in SEO plays meta tags.
Meta tags – are special tags for search engines, they tell search engines the necessary information about the current page. There are a lot of meta tags but only several tags are necessary for each page.
Now we review all necessary meta tags. (May be, you ask me how can you use meta tags in blogs? No. Of course, in blogs you couldn’t use meta tags, but they are a part of SEO, and when you optimize a page for search engines you must know it.)
a) Title
<title>Online Casino | The Best Online Casino</title>
The length of the title must be maximum of 58 characters and contains keywords. So, if our keyword “online casino”(I’ll be using this keyword as an example in this lesson and all other lessons) this title is optimized well.
The title is necessary for each page because it plays one of the main role in SEO. Almost all search engines pay attention on titles.

b) Keywords
All your keywords for the current page must be listed in a meta tag like this:
<meta name="keywords" content="online casino"/>
The length of keywords must be maximum of 50 characters. And don’t forget if you write the list of keywords in this meta tag, you have to use it on the current page, if you use one keyword or keywords nowhere remove them from the meta tag. And of course, your keywords must be relevant to your page content.
c) Description
<meta name="description" content="Online casino portal offering the best online casinos, online casino reviews, online casino games."/>
No more 150 characters in the description tag. And use your keywords in the description, at least one times.

These are main meta tags that must be on each page. Place these meta tags in <head></head> tags after <html> tag like this:
