well, iam a newbie to this site and this forum also. i was always bzee, now i have time and always dreamt of playing poker. but seriously (dont laugh) i would like to learn to play poker. i hope iam not posting this on a wrong place. i have tried to learn to play, but all the e-books available on the net are damn too costly. is there anybody who can help me

Visit this site, click on "How to Play" and there will be poker school containing very helpful Interactive Tutorial, Basic Poker Rules, Poker Games, Betting Rules, Buy-ins and Table Stakes, Glossary, Etiquette, Poker Tips, Chat Glossary.

I think it's one of the best poker schools and it's free.

Poker is something that can only be learned by doing it. The more hands you have played, the more situations you have seen, the better you will become. Reading some books might also help, just to get the basics across.
